The Sport and Leisure Service are looking to recruit a Team Leader (Business Development and Administration). The post holder will be responsible for managing a business development team which are the front face of the Active North Tyneside brand. Active North Tyneside is a joint initiative between the Sport and Leisure Service and the Public Health team. The team deliver projects which support and enable residents to improve their wellbeing through physical activity, lifestyle education and volunteering.

You will support critical commercial business and public health functions including the management of key data bases, processing of memberships and the monitoring and analysis of complex information. Other key administrative tasks include ordering and invoicing for goods and services, stock control, report writing and the collation of key performance indicators. You will oversee and develop initiatives related to our discount card scheme (Easecard) which is a vehicle for residents to access projects. You will also be responsible for customer engagement and promotion related to designated elements of the programme. This includes oversight of general customer communications (e.g. e-mail, post, social media, web-site) and direct engagement with partners and customers in various community settings and schools.

You will be able to lead and motivate a customer focussed team to deliver excellent service. You must have excellent organisational and forward planning skills and be able to deal with multiple tasks. You will have excellent IT skills and be proficient in Microsoft programmes along with the confidence and enthusiasm to positively present information of key aspects of the business to a wide range of partners. Proven interpersonal and communication skills and experience of managing people are essential. Experience of developing positive relationships with a variety of partners is also desirable.

A good general school education up to A level standard (or equivalent) and experience of working in administration services is also essential. The post is full time, 37 hours per week and flexible working arrangements apply. The post holder will be expected to work evenings and weekends on occasion to support business needs.
