Further Information
Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums (TWAM) is a large and successful archive and museum service managing nine venues in Newcastle, Gateshead, North and South Tyneside. The museum collection reflect a period of collection of over 200 years and number approximately nearly 1.1 million items, while the archive collections are among the largest in the country. We are an Arts Council England (ACE) Band 3 National portfolio organisation.

TWAM has a national and international reputation for our work with Children and Young People (CYP) and Community Engagement and have committed, highly skilled and experienced learning and outreach teams who work across, and beyond, our nine venues. ACE regard us as a national ‘thought leader’ in both these areas.

Learning and Engagement (L&E) is integral to the organisation’s success and to ensure this we have recently created a new post to represent L&E on our Leadership team, to ensure this area of work is integrated fully at a strategic level.

This new role will work with venue Learning Officers, the Outreach Officer and Venue Managers to develop a collaborative strategy for TWAM Learning and Engagement going forward as well as managing our Outreach and Volunteering functions.
