"SEND Tribunals Officer   This post, within the SEND Assessment and Monitoring Team, is to take the lead in managing appeals to SENDIST (Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal).  We are looking for an officer with experience of working within the SEND system with detailed knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice to facilitate ongoing work, both in reducing the number of appeals to SENDIST and also to lead on the resolution of appeals, as they arise. This will include representing the Local Authority at First Tier SENDIST Tribunal hearings.  In addition the post holder will take a lead on preparing responses to complaints and disputes, and managing the SEND mediation processes, including face to face meetings. The post holder will also support and deputise for the SEND Assessment and Monitoring Team Manager, where required, including supporting the line management of staff, appraisals, support and supervision.
