We are seeking an experienced and qualified Transition Support Worker who has relevant SEND knowledge in a school based environment. The post will involve supporting the attendance and education of a young person. The post holder will need to be flexible to the needs of both schools and helping them successfully transition to mainstream school.

The successful applicant will have a track record of successfully engaging vulnerable young people and the ability to work creatively with parent(s)/carer(s), teaching/support staff and colleagues. An understanding of SEND is necessary to help to the applicant develop strategies and targets for the individual pupil which will need to be conveyed to colleagues and other multi agencies in order for the pupil to succeed. The applicant should also have an understanding of teenage Mental Health and be able to support with specific medical needs if appropriate.

The successful applicant will have experience of working with young people who have SEMH needs and may display challenging behaviour.

Our pupils need staff who will create a calm and purposeful environment with proven ability to support in the administration/clerical duties within Moorbridge. The post holder will need to be creative, resourceful and resilient. The successful applicant will work well under their own initiative but be equally confident in operating as part of a supportive team.

We are particularly interested in applicants who have good organisational skills, are self motivated and have a calm and competent disposition as well as a sense of humour the post holder will need to be flexible to the needs of the service and individual students.

This post is fixed term until the 31st August 2020, term time only over 195 days, 37 hours per week.
