Key to this is a committed workforce who always gives their best. Offering a fast paced, progressive working environment, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is a great career move.

This post is based at the centre of the council in the Resources Directorate which has key responsibility for managing the council’s money and people as well as ensuring that democratic decisions are well informed and legally sound.

We are seeking a talented lawyer to lead the Adults Services, Conduct and Complaints Team, dealing with a diverse caseload of adult social care legal matters and, also, acting as deputy for the Principal Legal Officer.

Candidates must have full knowledge of Litigation in the Courts in relation to Adult Social Care, including Court Applications for property and affairs and other relevant matters such as coronial law and inquests.

The successful candidate will take a lead role in the coordination and investigation of complex adult social care and other complaints, as well as assisting the Monitoring Officer/Deputy Monitoring Officer with Code of Conduct matters.

Experience of other local government-related fields is desirable.

We are a small service and, accordingly, are seeking candidates who are flexible in their approach to work and who can engage with clients in a pragmatic and helpful way.
