Senior Public Health Manager (37 hours, Permanent Post)

This is a Senior Public Health Manager role to strategically lead public health programmes, including delivering commissioning functions across a portfolio, ensuring services are cost effective and of the highest quality, and improving outcomes and transforming well-being for the residents of Northumberland.  

The post-holder will lead and manage the planning, strategic commissioning, review, development, performance monitoring and quality assurance processes related to the commissioning of public health services, particularly substance misuse and sexual health. The post-holder will also: support the Director of Public Health in delivering the corporate vision for Northumberland as articulated in the Corporate Plan and the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy; and provide public health strategic leadership, advice and support on agreed key public health policy areas for Northumberland County Council and with other key partners and partnerships.

You must hold a Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Promotion or related field, have experience of commissioning public health services preferably substance misuse or sexual health services and have the knowledge and understanding of the main health inequalities in Northumberland and the social determinants of health.
