Further Information
This is Redcar and Cleveland. We are an ambitious council keen to build on our strong track record of innovation and partnership working, ensuring that we create a flourishing future for the borough and all of its residents. Key to this is a committed workforce who always gives their best. Offering a fast paced, progressive working environment, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is a great career move.

We have many reasons to be proud of our existing services for children, young people and their families in Redcar and Cleveland. We have a passionate workforce who are committed to supporting children and young people to feel safe, healthy, happy and ready to learn and achieve. We respect everyone as equally valued members of our community by listening to their views and using their opinions to help shape our services.

Are you the right person to help us to develop a brighter future for our children?

If you share the ethos of Redcar and Cleveland’s Children and Families Directorate, this could be the opportunity you are looking for.

We are seeking to appoint a Service Improvement and Participation Officer, who will assist the Children and Families Service in its continuous improvement activities by coordinating performance management activities such as benchmarking, process mapping, data analysis, auditing and business process improvement analysis; and will assist in ensuring that the services delivered are efficient, effective and meet local need.

As the Service Improvement and Participation Officer you will lead specific service improvement initiatives, supporting the Council to achieve the transformation necessary to deliver the Directorate service improvement priorities. You will be capable of analysing data and present your findings in a clear and concise manner.

You will be expected to lead in the development and delivery of the Participation Strategy, including coordination of participation and consultation activities with staff, schools, stakeholders, partners, children, families, community groups and other providers so as to determine how outcomes from participation and consultation will inform practice and make improvements to children & families services.

You will be expected to organise and deliver training to practitioners, staff and partners on effective participation techniques and be able to develop mechanisms to ensure that participation is inclusive; including electronic tools, development of online surveys and a range of forms and questionnaires suitable to the audience.

As the successful candidate you will have experience of working in a social care or relevant similar area and have experience of performance management techniques and partnership working so as to encourage participation. You will have experience of applying legislation and guidance in a practical, service-specific context and extensive experience of successful project management.

The post offers a competitive salary and employee benefits, including Local Government Pension Scheme and employee discounts. We will provide you with a comprehensive induction programme and dedicated supervision.
