Further Information
This is a co-located Social Work post with Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to adults and their families experiencing severe and enduring mental health issues.

The Mental Health Service works to a Recovery Model which is flexible, responsive and promotes evidence-based intervention. This is an exciting opportunity to enhance the established social work component of the service and to work alongside colleagues from health; there is a strong commitment to working in partnership with service users, carers, professionals and providers.

Our vision is to work alongside people, to help keep them well and safe and to do as much for themselves as possible, for as long as possible.

You must be dynamic, committed to providing excellent services and bring a comprehensive knowledge and skill-base to drug and alcohol and mental health services. You must be an enthusiastic team player who is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for the residents of North Tyneside.

There is a robust ASYE Scheme to enable and support newly qualified social workers through the first year of qualification in addition to a well-established programme of CPD, including a Progression scheme and social workers are actively encouraged to undertake PQ training.

There are attractive terms and conditions of employment, including generous annual leave entitlement, flexi scheme, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and access to staff benefits/discounts, including a lease car scheme

You should hold a relevant Social Work qualification such as the Social Work Degree, DipSW, CQSW or CSS and be registered with the Social Work England.

This post is 37 hours per week, fixed term until the 30th September 2020.

Please contact Kulvinda Chohan Team Manager on 07812523378 for further information.

Please be advised that this position will require an Enhanced check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

North Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
