Salary / benefits: £15,390 - £18,032 Pay per annum (0.84FTE) actual salary dependent upon experience (APT&C4-12, Full Time scale value £18,426 - £21,589)
Local Government Pension Scheme
Working times: 39.3 hours a week (1 x 8.66 hour day, 7:50am to 5.00pm, 4 x 7.66 hour days, 7:50am to 4:00pm). Term time (178 days) + 5 days. 30 minutes unpaid break/lunch.
Start date: Immediately, subject to successful candidate’s availability / notice period
Reduced school year of 180 days plus 3 CPD days, i.e. an additional 12 days of holidays.
With the equivalent of 2 days in school when the students are not at school- this time can be split into half day slots throughout the year and will be arranged in conjunction with the Vice Principal with flexibility in mind.
Pastoral Officer (All through i.e. Primary & Secondary)
We require a passionate, diligent, flexible, supportive and committed person to join our team as Christ’s College’s Pastoral Officer. The role involves supporting vulnerable students, across all ages of the College. You will be working as one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads providing support and care working closely with students, families/carers and staff addressing pastoral issues including safeguarding, social emotional and mental health care, anti-bullying, behaviour, and attendance.
You will be expected to build and maintain successful professional relationships with students, parents/carers, College staff and staff from external agencies e.g. social workers, counsellors and police. The successful candidate must have a good level of literacy and numeracy as well as excellent communication and organisational skills. A sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding practice and legislation is essential. The role will involve working as part of a team, writing reports and attending meetings outside of the College. The ability to work with and engage students fostering a love of learning is essential for this role.
