Hirst Active Youth based at the Hirst Welfare Centre in Ashington are recruiting for a Youth Support Worker for 5.5 hours per week. We provide recreational and educational projects and activities for young people aged 9-12 & 13-18 years in the Ashington Area. We run a 3 day per week centre based youth provision; which includes, various drop in sessions and development activities as well as holiday provision.

We are now recruiting for a qualified youth support worker who will join our small enthusiastic and hardworking team. As a Youth Support Worker you will help plan and deliver a programme of informal education activities that meet the needs of young people who attend the sessions. You will be able to develop ideas and move them forward in the best interests of young people. Your role would see you work with both the junior and senior groups on a Friday evening.

We are looking for individuals who:

-have experience of working with young people

-Are enthusiastic and Friendly

-have a youth work qualification

-are able to develop appropriate, professional relationships with young people

-have an understanding of young people’s needs

-are able to work as part of a team and on a one to one with young people

-able to use their initiative and work independently and have a flexible approach to working.
