Health and Social Care Officers play a vital role in helping people in our communities improve their quality of life. People want to remain as independent in their own home for as long as is possible and our Service is here to help them do that. The Service is a highly personalised service which helps to make this possible by re-enabling people to do things for themselves and re-engaging people back into the community.

This service supports adults with Mental Health who need to regain as much independence as possible. There are 12 dedicated rehabilitation flats and 4 short term crisis flats. We need dedicated people to join our team providing this vital service.

Staff work closely with our health colleagues and must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting independence, health, wellbeing and choice to those who use our services. Maintaining the dignity of service users must always be a priority and successful applicants must be able to deliver care and support with great sensitivity.

We need Health and Social Care Officers to work in our communities across the city and in our building-based service. These posts do not require specific experience or professional qualifications. What they really need is your caring approach, your patience and your commitment to making a real difference to people’s lives. You may already be providing similar services for friends or relatives of your own. Then why not make a career of it?

You need to be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting the independence, choice and dignity of service users.

Being able to work shifts, weekends, sleep ins on a rota basis is essential. Weekend enhancements are paid as are travel expenses.
