Walkergate Community School wish to appoint a Behaviour and Attendance Lead for April 2020, or before if available.

Walkergate Community School is part of a well-established academy trust. We became a teaching school in July 2017 and we now have Research school status.
Our school motto is ‘together we make a difference’. At Walkergate Community School we are lucky enough to have a passionate workforce who all care for and respect the fantastic children of our school. We are dedicated to school improvement, achieving the best outcomes possible for our children and we all aim to provide a happy, safe and fun school environment for the children and our staff too.

Children are at the heart of all we do and their social and emotional well-being, as well as their academic achievements, is very important. Across the Academy trust, our welfare teams are constantly developing practices and working in an innovative way to support the children and families in our area.

We are looking for someone with:
• A successful track record of working with learners and parents/carers to improve outcomes for attendance, behaviour and attitudes for learning and progress/attainment
• Experience of analysing and using data about learner outcomes for attendance and behaviour to identify, implement and monitor the impact of appropriate actions and interventions
• Experience of working collaboratively with multi-agency professionals (e.g. health, social care) to improve outcomes for children
• Highly developed influencing skills to persuade learners, parents, colleagues and external agencies to adopt particular courses of action.
• Commitment to work in partnership with parents and the community

Walkergate Community School and NEAT can offer you:
• The opportunity to work with happy, caring and well behaved children who are excited about learning.
• The opportunity to work with parents who are supportive of our school values and ethos.
• Vast support network from senior leaders, teachers and pastoral staff within the school and our academy trust.
• Regular opportunities to share and develop best practice with a range of professionals
• Excellent CPD opportunities.

If you are interested in working in a large community school, benefiting from a large support network and the opportunity to really make a difference, then please apply today!

We strongly encourage anyone who may be interested in working at our school to call our school office to book a no-pressure tour of the school and to meet some of our staff. Dates available are:
