Further Information
The Gateshead Housing Company is the largest social housing provider in Gateshead, responsible for the day-to-day management of nearly 20,000 homes. We deliver a wide range of services on behalf of Gateshead Council and currently employ over 800 people.

We are committed to providing customers with the highest quality of service. We believe the key to this is recruiting enthusiastic, talented people with the right skills, knowledge, attitude and behaviour.

An opportunity has arisen in the Repairs and Maintenance team for the role of Plasterer.

In this role, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and on your own initiative, carrying out all types of plastering work.

Day-to-day, you will complete work to Gateshead Council properties and other local authority buildings across the borough, ensuring a high standard of work is achieved.

About you:

It’s important you are extremely solution-focused, with strong customer service skills and a commitment to continued service improvements.

You will have a minimum NQV level 2, or a City and Guilds Craft Certificate in Plastering (or equivalent). In addition, you’ll need a working knowledge and experience of working in the construction industry, particularly in a repairs and maintenance environment. You should also possess 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.

The ability to carry out a comprehensive range of plastering activities is essential, as is a good working knowledge of health and safety (regulations and codes of practice) to ensure yourself and others are working safely.

You must be flexible, with a willingness to complete plastering work across other areas of the business as and when required.

As you will work across the borough, it’s essential you hold a current (full) driving license or can meet the travel requirements of the post. You will have access to company vehicles.
