This is an exciting opportunity to join staff at Atkinson House School. We aim to appoint a Site Manager who will be proactive and ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day running of the site. Atkinson House School supports students who have Social and Emotional Mental Health needs. We are seeking to appoint a new Site Manager who will work a split shift. We have an enormous amount of pride in our school and we need a Site Manager who shares that pride and is willing to take an active role in school life, complimenting the school’s ‘Ethos of Excellence’.

Atkinson House remains Northumberland County Council’s only designated provision for pupils aged 11 – 19, with Social, Emotional and Mental health (SEMH). The school has always been designated to cater for boys and young men who travel into school from all over Northumberland. Our mission is to provide a high quality educational community, which offers life-changing opportunities in a safe, creative and exciting environment.

The appointed person will need to promote our school values to; inspire our students, respect every member of our school community and to support our students to succeed. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated individual who is proactive, can use their own initiative at all times and is prepared to take on the responsibilities this role requires. The successful candidate will be a good communicator, be able to liaise with staff, students, parents/carers and contractors. They should be proficient in DIY, have good interpersonal skills and have a smart appearance.

The job requires excellent organisational skills and an ability to prioritise the workload. The successful candidate will have administrative skills and line manage three cleaners, in addition they will responsible for the ordering and receiving of cleaning and hygiene products.

The Site Manager will be a key holder, they will open and lock the school each day and during the holidays. They will be responsible for setting alarms will be first call for alarms.

The site needs to be kept safe for all users, and the new Site Manager will have to complete regular testing and recording including Legionella, Fire Safety and other aspects of health and safety, as well as managing contractors on site.

The successful applicant will benefit from significant support, including Induction Programme and ongoing training from Northumberland County Council as part of the school’s Service Level Agreement. A personalised CPD package will be provided to support your transition into the school.
