The Early Years and School Improvement Service actively support and facilitate such partnership working to further improve outcomes and life chances for young people.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced practitioner to fulfil the post of Early Years SENDCo to provide support to SENDCos in childcare settings across North Tyneside. This is offered as a full time, 37 hour permanent post to commence as soon as possible. This post will be based at the Langdale Centre.

The post holder will have relevant and extensive practice in Early Years and SEND within the childcare sector and have experience of leadership within this key phase. The post holder will support childcare settings and their SENDCos in order to effectively meet the needs of children. The EY SENDCo will need to have extensive knowledge and understanding of the Code of Practice and use this to enable SENDCos to effectively assess, plan, do and review. The post holder will lead both central and bespoke training for providers and childcare SENDCos. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will work closely with colleagues from both council and health services.
