The Service
The Council’s in-house Legal Services Team seek to recruit an experienced and knowledgeable contracts and procurement lawyer.

The role
Your main responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and public sector agreements; advising on public procurement law; advising on contractual disputes;  providing support and management throughout various procurement processes and liaising with Senior Officers as appropriate.

The successful candidate would also ideally be able to provide advice with regard to information law including GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, requests under the  Freedom of Information Act and requests under the Environmental Information Regulations A qualified solicitor or barrister or fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives holding a current practising certificate, you will bring plenty of in-depth knowledge in the areas of Contracts and  Procurement. With relevant experience in these areas, you will advise and communicate with in- house clients and colleagues.

You will have an eye for detail and good organisational skills, which will  enable you to carry a substantial workload. Flexible and innovative in your approach, you will help us  to positively develop new areas of practice.

- A starting salary of £ 36,876 - £40,760 per annum (Band 9)
