Do You Want to Work in Adult Social Care?

Are you unemployed and looking to develop the skills to get a job in adult social care? Are you working in another job sector and want to get into adult social care as a career?

County Durham Care Academy provides free entry level training for individuals, who are new to the county’s adult social care sector. Part of the programme enables you to connect with local employers including home care agencies, care homes and hospices and other social care providers. At the end of the programme you will receive a guaranteed interview with an employer of your choice who is active in the programme. You will also receive your DBS Check free of charge.

The Care Academy training is delivered as a six-week programme on a part time basis. The qualifications you will receive as part of this programme include; Level One Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care, Food Hygiene, First Aid and elements of the Care Certificate. We offer a flexible approach to learning which will help you around your own personal commitments. It is also free of charge to attend.

Do You Already Work in Adult Social Care?

Do you already work in care, but are looking to access new skills and qualifications? Do you have existing caring responsibilities and would like to improve your abilities to continue with this role or pursue a career?

If the answer is “yes” County Durham Care Academy can help you. We exist to support the development of a well-led, skilled and valued adult care workforce in County Durham. We offer a range of courses from entry level right through to senior leadership and management qualifications.

We understand that people lead busy lives and that working in care often means working different hours each week making it hard to study, to help you Care Academy offer a range of distance learning courses in addition to its traditional training options.
