The Economy and Regeneration service sits within the Regeneration, Economy and Commercial Directorate of the Council. The Service has 47 staff whose core purpose is to deliver the Council’s priority of Economic Growth. This includes the influencing of national and regional policy and co-ordinating and driving forward the delivery and management of regeneration and economic growth projects. This includes the acquisition and management of external funding, including Borderlands Growth Deal, North of Tyne Combined Authority Investment Funding, European Structural Funds and Central Government Initiatives.
The Service is looking to recruit a Monitoring and Grants Assistant (NTCA Rural Business Growth) The post will sit in the Rural Growth Team.
The Economy and Regeneration service is looking for an experienced Monitoring and Grants Assistant on the NTCA Rural Business Growth project supported with ERDF and NTCA Investment Funding.
On behalf of the Council in its role as Accountable Body, You will manage and organise the provision of grant claims and general support to the NTCA Rural Business Growth project. You will be responsible for the monitoring and processing of the grant claims, ensuring that funding regulations are complied with and that all systems are maintained accurately to enable effective monitoring against targets and budgets.
This role is part financed by England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
Advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post

You will have a good general education with an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a business related discipline. Considerable experience in a similar role covering a broad range of support tasks and procedures with experience of ERDF. Able to quickly and accurately manipulate numerical data, utilising IT and following procedures within given timescales without constant supervision is essential to the post.
You will possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to quickly build good working relationships both within the Team and with external organisations. The ability to converse at ease with Partners and provide advice in accurate spoken and written English is essential for the post.
