Full time (37.5 hrs pw)
The role: We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced person to the role of Additional Needs Worker. This role supports young women aged 16 - 25 with disabilities / difficulties including physical disabilities, learning disabilities, sensory impairment and/or other health needs. A Way Out understands that people with disabilities/difficulties may experience a variety of challenges which could negatively impact their future development. In addition, we understand that individuals with disabilities are more likely to be at risk of abuse and exploitation by virtue of their additional vulnerabilities. Our aim is to change this through using an inclusive approach, passion and determination to ultimately deliver services that directly improve the everyday opportunities for young women with disabilities/difficulties.
The Blossom Project: The Blossom project is an established outreach and engagement service targeted to support young women aged 16-24 years who experience multiple disadvantages and are at significant risk of poor outcomes. The service works to build emotional resilience and to encourage positive life choices, with the aim of preventing young women being vulnerable to exploitation and abuse and progressing into survival sex work. The project, delivered within a multi-agency framework of referrals, outreach, in-reach, low threshold drop-ins, group work and one to one support, intending to enhance the lifestyles of young women, whilst raising their long-term aspirations.
A Way Out: A Way Out is an outreach and prevention charity with a difference which aims to engage, empower and equip vulnerable and excluded women, families and young people to live lives free from harm, abuse and exploitation and to reduce life limiting choices and behaviour.
It is an Occupational Requirement that applications for this post are open to women only, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, or the Equality Act 2010. Enhanced DBS checks will be required.
