As a Social Worker in either the Social Work Assessment Teams or in the Safe and Supported Teams you will be passionate about ensuring that children and young people in the Borough get the right help at the right time and that they have a voice in the work that you do. If you are committed to getting the right outcomes for children, young people and their families then this job could be for you.

You will be a qualified Social Worker who preferable has experience in Children’s Safeguarding including undertaking assessments, carrying out s47 Investigations, working with children and their families on a Child in Need Plan, a Child Protection plan or within a Legal Framework as well as with children who are cared for by North Tyneside. You will have the skills to work in partnership with partner agencies such as health colleagues, Independent Reviewing Officers, Housing and Police to name a few.

Another difference you will notice is the opportunities that you will have to develop to the best of your professional potential through a range of training opportunities including practice educator training, post qualifying awards and more. You will have IT that supports you to do your job well allowing you to be truly flexible in your with 2 in 1 devices that are mobile through the use of SIM cards, smartphones that connect to your 2 in 1 and support with work based assessments if you need this. You will be based alongside your colleagues in a modern office building with the collocation of social work teams, access to managers and senior managers as well as others such as our participation team, fostering team and Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub.

You will be appointed to LG Grade 8 or 9 depending on your qualifications and experience.
LG Grade 8 - £26,999 - £30,507 pa
LG Grade 9 - £31,371 - £34,788 pa
