We are looking for a keen and ambitious Principal Environmental Health Officer to join our Environmental Health team dealing primarily, but not exclusively with, the full range of environmental protection and pest control activities across the City including environmental permitting, land contamination, air quality, noise, nuisance, public health, reviewing planning applications and overseeing the regulatory work of the pest control and pollution team.
To apply for this role you will need to hold a degree in Environmental Health or equivalent and ideally a post graduate Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control or Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurement. You will also need to have current practical knowledge, with significant regulatory and team leadership experience.
The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to deal confidently and effectively with the public, businesses and members of other organisations. A strong work ethic, ability to manage a varied caseload and team, positive approach to delivering improvements and a commitment to customer service are essential.
