Further Information
Are you passionate about education and helping children to fulfil their potential? Do you have a positive approach and outlook? If you are, we would like you to join our dynamic team at Highfield Middle School.

Highfield Middle School is a popular and successful middle school in the town of
Prudhoe, on the edge of beautiful rural Northumberland. We nurture 400 pupils from Year 5 to Year 8 and are proud to be part of the recently formed Tyne Community Learning Trust. Our school is very successful and popular, with a positive ethos, team spirit and work ethic. Highfield was deemed to be a good school in our last Ofsted inspection in July 2018. Further information about the school can be found on our website.

Our governors are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Computing teacher to teach Computing across the school, during our current staff member’s maternity leave.

You will be required to teach a creative and inspiring Computing curriculum to all the children in our school, in our purpose built, modern Computing suite. You will also take responsibility for a tutor group and be an integral member of a strong pastoral team. There will also be the opportunity to teach a small number of lessons in a foundation subject. The post would suit a new or recently qualified teacher and we are committed to providing additional PPA, mentoring and CPD to the right candidate.

The successful candidate must:
• Be an excellent teacher, committed to professional development.
• Have the ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with pupils,
parents and colleagues.
• Have excellent communication and motivational skills.
• Have the ability to meet deadlines, organise the classroom and maintain a high
standard of discipline.
• Make learning interesting, challenging and accessible, meeting the needs of a
variety of learning styles.
• Have the ability to work under pressure.
• Have a high level of commitment to the school and its aims.
• Have a positive approach and a sense of humour.

We are strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure is required for this post.

Informal discussions prior to interview are encouraged and it may be possible to arrange a socially distant visit to view our school and facilities. Please contact Jenny Jewitt (School Manager) to make arrangements.

Application forms should be downloaded from this website. Paper copies are also
available from the school by telephoning the school office.

Completed applications should be returned directly to the school, either by post to:
Highfield Middle School, Highfield Lane, Prudhoe, Northumberland, NE42 6EY
or by email to admin@highfield.northumberland.sch.uk

Closing Date: 11:00am on Monday 6th July
Interviews will take place on Thursday 9th July via Google Meet
