21 Month Apprenticeship

Sunderland City Council are looking for enthusiastic apprentices to join our Housing team. We have vacancies for 2 Housing Support Apprentices.
As a Housing Apprentice, you will develop skills, knowledge and experience working in a variety of settings across the Councils Housing Service.

Your role will be to provide a variety of administration support to the Council’s Housing Team to process invoices and raise purchase orders. Provide advice and assistance to prospective tenants, private landlords and to those at threat of losing their home. To assist with the administration element on a number of projects within a busy housing team. To manage and respond to general enquires from the public via a generic inbox function. To gather data and assist with data input by use of technology and to format documents to a good standard. The apprenticeship will be based in the Civic Centre, Sunderland but you may be required to work at any council workplace within the City.

This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Candidates should possess good communication skills with the ability to work in a team and on your own initiative. You must either have or expect to achieve 4 GCSE’s at Grades 9 – 4 / A – C in Maths, English and ICT. Candidates who hold an equivalent and relevant qualification are also invited to apply. If you do not have the required qualification, you will be assessed by the training provider to determine if you have the required skills, knowledge, and behaviours to complete the apprenticeship successfully.
