South Tyneside Housing Ventures Trust was formed as a Registered Provider of Social Housing in 2014 and is an independent, private, not-for-profit company offering high quality housing in South Tyneside. The Trust now owns over 400 affordable homes which includes homes for people over 55, families living with someone with a disability, and new and refurbished family and starter homes. The homes are managed through a service provider and this contract is currently being re-procured. The Board have recently agreed an ambitious development programme which will almost double the size of the stock portfolio and will provide a further 360 general needs housing, supported housing and extra care schemes in South Tyneside over the next 4/5 years.
We are looking for two independent non-executive directors to join our Board.
We are especially interested in people who bring skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:
1. Social Housing, Care & Support
2. Finance & Treasury
3. Property Development.
We are looking for two people who will be able to operate at a strategic level and work with the Chair, Vice Chair and the rest of the Board. We have an under representation of Board Members from black, minority and ethnic communities, and under representation of people living with disabilities.
Experience in a Non-Executive role is desirable, however is not essential. An Induction Programme will be available.
Board Members can be appointed for a maximum of three terms of three years.
Expenses will be paid however these roles are voluntary.
