Assistant Head of Skills 35 hours per week

The Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fulfil a new role for the Foundation as Assistant Head of Skills.

With this vacancy being a new role, there is considerable scope for the right candidate to apply innovation, creativity and individual expertise to support the aims and objectives of the Skills team.

Through our pioneering facility, the Beacon of Light, it is the Foundation’s ambition to develop the employability of people across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham through quality education and skills delivery. Working closely with the Head of Skills, you will be responsible for the line management and performance of Programme Coordinators and Leads, with a particular focus on developing and implementing a Skills wide training and development programme for staff.

You will also work closely with the Skills delivery team to ensure contract KPIs are met and communication in relation to delivery KPIs and quality is rigorously assessed and documented through approved monitoring and evaluation processes, acting as an operational contact for all Skills donors/funders.

Broader responsibilities include increasing recruitment referral partners for the delivery of Family Learning programmes, study programmes, AEB delivery and apprenticeships/traineeships, including building apprenticeship opportunities with local business partners.
