Come and join a “good” and “outstanding” Children’s and Families Service.

• Do you have experience of delivering high quality services to children looked after?

• Are you committed to providing an outstanding service for our children and young people?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then we would like to hear from you.

As part of South Tyneside's drive for continuous improvement we are looking for an enthusiastic, positive person to take up the role of social worker as part of the Integrated Children Looked After Service.

“Workforce development is a significant strength, and there is a very strong commitment to continuing professional development. South Tyneside appropriately prioritises recruitment and retention of high-quality professionals.” (OFSTED 2017).

Having been graded as Good by Ofsted we are determined to push the service to the next level and improve things further to ensure we achieve the best outcomes for our children and young people.

The commitment to our children and young people is council wide, including our partners. Initiatives to improve the service include a recent move to a purpose built location that is central, and brings together services for children looked after – our young people have been key contributors to the planning.

We are looking for a social worker who is committed in their approach to improving outcomes supporting our aim to provide an outstanding service for children looked after. The successful candidate will need to have a highly developed specialist knowledge of children and young people looked after.

Yes, there will be challenges and tough times ahead but there is no better feeling than achieving best outcomes for our children and young people. That is why we encourage new ideas and new ways of thinking; you will need to place children and young people at the heart of everything you do.

If you have real drive and ambition and are professionally qualified with substantial post qualifying experience and feel that you wish to be a part of a team of social workers within an integrated service, then we would like to hear from you.
