The Vehicle Workshop is the driving force in supplying maintenance solutions to the diverse fleet of vehicles relied upon by South Tyneside Council and the local community. The service has recently received an injection of funding and we are looking for a Vehicle Technician to help us take the service forward.
You will be a key member of our team, maintaining vehicles to the highest standards and carry out:
• Inspections of vehicles to ‘O’ licence standards;
• Preparing vehicles for MOT;
• Vehicle condition reports;
• Vehicle and plant servicing, maintenance and repairs;
• Welding and fabrication;
• Bodywork repairs;
• Vehicle and plant recovery;
• Maintaining statutory records;
• Providing cover for seasonal events outside of core working hours.
You will need to have good business acumen and be able to work closely with our customers and provide advice and assistance.
