Further Information

This is an exciting opportunity for you to play your part in shaping the future of the North of Tyne region. The North of Tyne Combined Authority is a ground-breaking organisation, with the transfer of unprecedented new powers from Government to the North of Tyne. We will make an ambitious contribution to the lives of local people, with a clear priority to help the communities we serve to fulfil their true potential – in all aspects of life.

The North of Tyne Combined Authority is recruiting a Governance Officer to ensure open, transparent and robust decision-making and scrutiny challenge. The role is an opportunity to work at the heart of the exciting new devolution agenda and we are looking for someone with a strong interest in local democracy and the right skills, abilities and talent to support the Elected Mayor, Cabinet and committee members and officers as part of a small team at the NTCA.

You must be self-assured, able to write clearly and concisely, a proven communicator with good IT skills and administrative skills, an eye for detail and bags of enthusiasm. We are looking for someone who’s flexible and hardworking, with instinctive political sensitivity who can plan well, multi-task and juggle priorities, as well as work accurately under pressure.

The role is politically restricted.

If you are interested in this opportunity, we would love to hear from you.

At North of Tyne Combined Authority, we don’t just accept difference, we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our team, our mission, and our residents. We are proud to embrace diversity and equal opportunity in a serious way. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be.
