The role:
A Way Out’s is seeking to appoint an experienced worker to be part of supporting development of our well-established Blossom Project. The Blossom project is expanding to reach and support girls aged between 13 – 16 years and this role will be key in delivering age appropriate support programmes to create new opportunities for early intervention and prevention. The role will involve face-to-face and digital engagement to build relationships and hold a caseload of marginalized and/or vulnerable girls and young women who are within or on the edge of care and whose needs and risks are increasing. The worker will offer one to one and group support and will involve co-delivery with community partners and using arts, music, media or sports as vehicles for engagement. In addition, role will help to develop new projects, pilots and pop up events in order to reach younger women, ultimately offering practical and emotional support to encourage and motivate change. Funding has been secured for a 12 month period, A Way Out will endeavor to seek continuation funding where possible.
The Blossom Project:
The Blossom project is an established outreach and engagement service targeted to support young women aged 16-24 years who experience multiple disadvantages and are at significant risk of poor outcomes. The service works to build emotional resilience and to encourage positive life choices, with the aim of preventing young women being vulnerable to exploitation and abuse and progressing into survival sex work. The project, delivered within a multi-agency framework of referrals, outreach, in-reach, low threshold drop-ins, group work and one to one support, intending to enhance the lifestyles of young women, whilst raising their long-term aspirations.

A Way Out is an outreach and prevention charity with a difference which aims to engage, empower and equip vulnerable and excluded women, families and young people to live lives free from harm, abuse and exploitation and to reduce life limiting choices and behaviour.
It is an Occupational Requirement that applications for this post are open to women only, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, or the Equality Act 2010
