We have many reasons to be proud of our existing services for children, young people and their families in Redcar and Cleveland.

We have a passionate workforce who are committed to supporting children and young people to feel safe, healthy, happy and ready to learn and achieve. We respect everyone as equally valued members of our community by listening to their views and using their opinions to help shape our services.

We are a caring and supportive team; loyal and tenacious, with integrity at the heart of everything we do.

Are you the right person to help us to develop a brighter future for our children?

If you share the ethos of Redcar and Cleveland’s Children and Families Directorate, this could be the opportunity you are looking for.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for qualified social workers to join our Children with Disabilities Social Work Team. If you are enthusiastic and passionate and want to make a real difference in disabled children's lives, then we would like to hear from you. The work you undertake will involve children in need, those in need of protection and children in our care. The successful candidate will be expected to work in genuine partnership with families and professionals in order to coordinate services more effectively for families with children and young people with SEND and achieve improved outcomes.

With a focus on restorative social work practice, we provide our social workers with excellent management support and supervision to encourage best practice and innovation to flourish. We are committed to giving social workers the time to work directly and in partnership with families to achieve positive change for children.

We care about our staff, recognise the importance of training and development and support our social workers to reach their full potential. We have a clear Workforce Development Strategy, with opportunities for professional development and career progression.

The applicant will need a social work qualification and experience in working in disabilities would be desirable.
