Information
Branton Community Primary School and Breamish Valley Community Nursery are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated teaching assistant to support our Early Years pupils and also to work with our Forest School Leader in our successful onsite Forest School.
The successful candidate should have confidence in their own literacy and numeracy skills and with an NVQ level 3 in childcare/teaching and learning (or equivalent). You should ideally have experience of the both the National and EYFS curriculum and be able to support children to learn throughout school and nursery. It would be desirable to have a Forest School qualification or be prepared to work towards one in the future.
You would be expected to be part of the Early Years observation, assessment and planning cycle with in the setting and support the teaching staff in developing individual teaching programmes for children. You would need be confident using ICT and be able to use online observation and tracking systems.
You will be required to support our very youngest children in developing early social skills, confidence and independence. You will follow our positive behaviour policy, maintaining outstanding behaviour and ensuring all children are safe and happy throughout the school.

The post will be within the range of the Variable hours contract range from a minimum of 9 hours to a maximum of 27.5 hours per week, the currently requirement 22 hours per week.

You should enjoy working with children and be able to communicate effectively with them. The successful applicant should be reliable and enthusiastic and able to work as part of our hardworking, dedicated team. We have a strong emphasis on outdoor learning and so the applicant would be required to work outdoors all year round.
