New College Durham Academies Trust currently comprises of two large Academies: Consett Academy and North Durham Academy, located some six miles apart in North West Durham. Both Academies are in multi-million-pound new builds, offering unrivalled state of the art facilities for our students and communities in Consett and Stanley.

The Trust is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and motivated administrator to work as part of our DEEP Support Team at North Durham Academy. This is an exciting time to join our Trust, in a newly established role.

Choices/Inclusion Administration Assistant – initially fixed term for 1 academic year
Grade 2 - £16,978 pa (which reflects actual salary) 37 hrs per week - Term Time Only

Reporting directly to the Senior Leaders for DEEP Support, you will possess the necessary skills to provide an efficient and effective administration service within the Choices/Inclusion department. Applicants should have a keen interest in working within the Education Sector. The role will involve supporting the Inclusion Manager and Deep Support Manager in coordinating an effective provision for students who need help in overcoming barriers to learning.

You should be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have previous experience of working in an educational establishment. Applicants should also be competent in Microsoft Office Suite and be able to relate well to children and adults.

If successful, you will be expected to maintain tracking systems and report on the impact of various intervention strategies in a timely manner – liaising with colleagues, students and parents/carers. You should be able to work well within a team environment or be self-motivated to work on your own initiative.

Ideally, applicants should either hold an NVQ level 2 in Administration, have 4 GCSEs Grade A-C (or equivalent) including maths and English. Candidates will be expected to support the implementation of the Trust’s vision and values and ensure policies and procedures are promoted and adhered to.
