This is an exciting opportunity to join our Traffic & Street Works team as a Technical Permit & Street Work Systems Supervisor.

As the Technical Permit & Street Work Systems Supervisor you will be responsible for the supervision of a team of up to 3 x technical officers and the effective management of all road and street works systems used for the planning, management and communication of street and road works used by the Highway Permit Team including Street Manager, the street gazetteer database and any other software systems within the field of street works.

You will also be required to technically assess and co-ordinate highway permits raised by works promoters as prescribed by the County Council of Durham Street Works Permit Scheme and in accordance with The Code of Practice for Coordination of Street Works, Code of Practice for Safety at Street and Road Works and all other all relevant legislation.

If you have experience of the above and can demonstrate drive, ambition and commercial awareness then we would like to hear from you.

Required Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

• National Highway Sector Scheme – Temporary Traffic Management Award or equivalent.

• National Highway Sector Scheme 12D M7 – Temporary Traffic Management for Managers, Designers & Technical Officers

• Willing to train towards and achieve relevant technical qualifications in Street Works as agreed by the Traffic & Street Works Manager.
