The team is at an advanced stage in the preparation of a site allocations plan (Making Spaces for Growing Places) following the adoption of the Joint Core Strategy and Urban Core Plan (March 2015). You will join us as we move on with the preparation and consultation on this and other documents. The successful candidate will be a qualified planner, have a broad knowledge of the process of plan preparation and associated legislation and the ability to undertake research to inform the development of planning policy. In addition, they must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide range of people, work independently as well as part of a team, be able to organise and undertake consultation exercises, have knowledge of office routine and good IT skills. You will take responsibility for specific areas of planning policy and will be expected to tackle the full range of planning policy documents. You will also play a leading role in the setting up digital platforms, as well as ensuring good data management and contributing to wider Council plans and strategies.
