Further Information
North Tyneside Council is seeking an experienced internal communications professional to join its busy Communications and Marketing team. In this role, you’ll work at the heart of the council and support teams right across the organisation.

You will use your communications expertise to inform and engage with colleagues, including those without internet access, as the council moves through the recovery phase of the coronavirus pandemic.

We’re looking for a creative thinker who can create engaging content using a range of different communications channels. With excellent written and verbal communications skills, you will plan, manage and deliver our internal communications approach.

Your working day will be very varied with competing deadlines, so you’ll need to be efficient, well organised and confident working independently, as well as enjoy working as part of a team.

The role will, at least, initially begin with home working as part of the council’s recovery process.

This role is fixed term for 12 months.

Full details of the post are set out in the job description and person specification.

For further details, contact Laurie Watts, Senior Media and Communications Adviser, on laurie.watts@northtyneside.gov.uk.

North Tyneside Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

In addition, staff and volunteers are expected to familiarise themselves with all relevant policies, procedures and guidance in relation to safeguarding children and safe practice with vulnerable adults. Within North Tyneside, safeguarding is everybody’s business.
