The Financial Safeguarding Team delivers the statutory and non-statutory requirements of Sunderland City Council for the benefit of highly vulnerable clients.
A caseworker with specialist welfare benefits knowledge and experience is required to support the work of the Financial Safeguarding Team. This will include monitoring capital limits, changes in circumstances, identifying under and over payments and liaison with the DWP.
The role will require an analytical approach, maintaining accurate records and producing reports for various data sets.
The post is based in a busy, fast paced environment and involves high volumes of work
Due to the responsibilities of the post, the ability to travel is required.
This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
