The housing company leads on migration work on behalf of the Local Authority. This is a newly created role in which the post-holder will support the Resettlement and Migration Manager to develop systems for robust data collection, build relationships with internal and external agencies’ and further develop this area of work.
The role is located within the Resettlement Team. The focus of the team is to support refugees who are resettled via the Home Office resettlement programme, providing support to integrate into their new community, Gateshead.
The service also undertakes the work attached to wider migration issues including oversight of the Home Office asylum contract.
About you:
We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join the Refugee Resettlement Team.
You must have an awareness of issues relating to local and national migration legislation. You should also be able to work independently, build relationships with key partners and support the service manager with the ongoing development of this area of work.
You will support in the preparation of briefings, writing reports, developing web-based information and communication materials, therefore enhanced ICT skills are essential.
You will also be responsible for mapping and analysing migration data to inform service improvements, as well as monitoring and preparing performance information to agreed timescales, therefore you must also possess good time management skills and attention to detail.
