An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Court Officer within Neighbourhood Housing to work as part of a newly restructured team delivering excellent housing management services for the tenants of North Tyneside Council.

This is a challenging role, in a unique and challenging time, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to play an important part in collecting rent income from tenants, applying, preparing and presenting cases at court. Signposting tenants for financial advice, support and information.

You will be part of a team which monitors rent accounts for council tenancies. As a key member of the team you will be responsible for rent arrears collection, advice on debt management and support to sustain the tenancies of those facing problems with paying rent and service charges. You will also be required to give the best possible advice in relation to welfare benefits.

You will have experience of delivering an excellent customer service, with strong communication skills, good negotiation skills and a proven track record of meeting targets. In addition to this you will have a can-do attitude and be an excellent problem solver, whilst offering a balance between enforcement and support in all areas of rent management.
