Part time position 24 hours per week

An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Occupational Therapist.

The service provides Occupational Therapy support to customers in the city’s community bed-based offer as part of a step-up or step-down pathway from hospital.

The post holder will carry a caseload appropriate to the grade of the post, facilitating assessment and treatment of customers, utilising a range of compensatory or rehabilitative techniques.

The post holder will work as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team providing occupational therapy interventions to support customers in their recovery and co-ordinate and facilitate safe and timely discharges from bed-based services.
The post is based within Sunderland’s Independent Living Centre, with opportunities for agile, flexible and home working.

Candidates should have well developed time management and organisational skills, with the ability to create excellent relationships and work creatively with their team.

This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
