An opportunity has arisen for an Electoral Services Officer. The job will mostly involve the conduct of elections and the compilation of the Register of Electors, but you will also have the chance to work on a variety of different projects in a very varied role, which will change on a week to week basis throughout the electoral cycle.

The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, comfortable working on several projects at once, have excellent communication and organisational skills and have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, on occasion involving working evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. You should be able to demonstrate your electoral experience and ability to prioritise your own work with minimum supervision.

We are particularly looking for an applicant with a strong background in customer services and to either hold, or being willing to work towards, the Certificate Qualification in Electoral Administration. Ideally you will also possess knowledge of an electoral software package, preferably Xpress, and have excellent keyboard and information technology skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access and updating web pages.
