Are you a catalyst for change?

Do you enjoy collaborating to make a difference to people’s lives?

Do you thrive on supporting our communities most in need to improve their physical and mental wellbeing?

We want to create a world where more people enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle. Across our region, we want everyone to have an equal opportunity to be active in their own way – particularly those who need it most – boosting health and happiness.

We are here to help our partners unlock the power of physical activity to change more lives. Physical activity does way more than raise your heart rate. It is proven to have a positive impact on physical and mental health, educational attainment, employability and social cohesion. We are here to enable our partners to harness physical activity, making it work hard towards achieving the life-changing results they are looking for across a wide range of projects.

Our mission is to enable our system partners to see things differently, work smarter and maximise their results. As an experienced and knowledgeable strategic agency, we will ensure that physical activity is part of a successful solution, playing its part in delivering a range of outcomes. We take a whole systems approach and push for change at a population level – so we think differently and challenge the status quo. We will share best practice, provide advice, guidance and support and connect our partners with like-minded allies to help make the most of their opportunities.

We will:

• Catalyse change – we believe that change is possible and we’re ready to lead the exploration.

• Positively disrupt – to challenge the norm and cause radical change through innovation.

• Collaborate – together we are greater than the sum of our parts.

We are looking for someone to join us who shares our vision, our values, and our appetite for change, and is keen to work as part of a wider network involved with Sport England and the National Academy for Social Prescribing.

The successful candidate will provide dedicated support to communities experiencing significant health inequalities, particularly due to Covid-19, through strengthened social prescribing at a community level, whilst also providing a mechanism to influence local commissioning strategies, and support partners through capacity building as they navigate a complex landscape to make the best of, and combine, local resources.

Whilst we at Rise do have an office base in North Shields, the role holder will benefit from our flexi-time policy and ability to work remotely. This is a full-time role (37 hours per week) and the successful candidate will be comfortable working for three days per week across the North of Tyne and Gateshead Integrated Care Partnership area, and two days per week across the wider region of the North East and Yorkshire.
