Children’s Safeguarding - Legal Services, Law and Governance

We wish to recruit a flexible, highly skilled lawyer to join our Safeguarding & Litigation Legal Team based within our Lexcel accredited Legal Services Team. It is essential that you have experience of and a genuine enthusiasm for Child Safeguarding law and an excellent approach to public service and client care. Candidates from both the public and private sector are encouraged to apply

We provide a supportive environment for the development and maintenance of your professional skills and experience.

You will provide legal advice, representation and undertake legal research relating to child safeguarding matters and will carry a caseload of matters in both proceedings and pre-proceedings. You will undertake advocacy in the relevant courts, including contested hearings and briefing counsel where appropriate.

You will work closely with social work colleagues and will be interested to know that following an OFSTED inspection in March 2020 the overall effectiveness of Children’s Social Care Services in North Tyneside were judged to be ‘Outstanding’

As part of a busy legal team you may be required to undertake work in other areas covered by the team.
