About the Role
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has an exciting new opportunity within Libraries and Customer Service. The team are responsible for providing high quality Library services and Customer Service to all residents and visitors. Enquiries can be made over a number of routes; face to face, by telephone, via web-chat and via email.

You will gain valuable work experience supporting the team in handling resident’s enquiries. This may include handling switchboard and general enquiries over the ‘phone in the Contact Centre, or assisting in a library discharging books, replenishing stock, providing help to customers to use library PCs, and providing help and guidance to customers and visitors where required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working, positive individual who is self-motivated and able to work using their own initiative as well as being a team player.

The successful candidate will be committed to providing an excellent service and be willing to learn and develop their knowledge.

This is a fixed-term contract for 15 months. National Minimum Wage for your age will apply after the first year.

Apprenticeship Qualification
During your apprenticeship you will be working towards the nationally recognised Customer Service Practitioner, level 2 qualification at Redcar Adult Learning, based in Redcar College.

Essential Requirements
Apprenticeship opportunities are open to anyone over the age of 16 years old with no upper age limit.

You will need to have a minimum of:
Grade 3 (equivalent to Grade E or above) at GCSE English and Maths or functional skills Entry level 3 qualification in English and Maths.

You will need to be committed/willing to work towards the level 2 qualification.
