Public Protection and Neighbourhoods Team
We are seeking to appoint a number of enthusiastic, self-motivated Environmental Health Officers with the necessary training and experience to work in our Public Protection and Neighbourhoods Team.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we deliver a new Additional and Selective licensing scheme which commenced on the 6 April 2020.
The team deal with a wide range of housing related issues including housing standards, noise and anti-social behaviour, public health nuisances and landlord licensing to improve conditions in the private housing sector.
It is essential to have:
A good understanding of the regulatory framework, guidance and good practice in relation to the Housing Act and HHSRS assessments.
A Degree or Diploma in Environmental health with full registration with the CIEH Environmental Health Registration Board.
Knowledge of current and emerging private sector housing related legislation and the technical aspects of enforcement.
Experience of HMO and selective licensing.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required with proven ability to deliver services.
