The Governors of Tanfield Lea Community Primary School are seeking to appoint a committed, hardworking, well organised person with excellent interpersonal skills to the position of Clerical Assistant.
We are a busy, lively, growing school dedicated to developing each and every child. We offer a wide range of opportunities for children both in and out of school with the intention of giving them a diverse, memorable and positive school experience. We create and foster an atmosphere which is conducive to the progress of all – children and staff. We aim for our children to leave us as confident, happy, well behaved young people prepared for the next stage of their learning.
If this is the kind of school community you would like to be part of and contribute to, then we’d welcome an application from you.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of our strong committed team.
Prospective candidates will be expected to be the first point of contact, face to face with parents and visitors. Candidates must also have the ability to answer telephone calls and deal with email communication. They will have experience of word processing and the ability to use IT. They must be well organised and will provide clerical assistance to support teaching staff with their administrative work and work alongside the school clerk with general administration duties.
Candidates may also apply for our Breakfast Club Assistant vacancy and, if successful, carry out both roles.
For an informal discussion about the post please contact Miss Kay Hemmings (Head Teacher) on 01207 234500; sadly visits to the school prior to interview are not possible at this time.
In the first instance, application packs should be downloaded from the County Council Jobs web page; alternatively they can be obtained by emailing our School Business Manager Katrina Cooke firstname.lastname@example.org
Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. As a disability confident employer, we are committed to employing disabled people and people with health conditions making reasonable adjustments to support disabled applicants when required.
Calculation of term time only pay
Standard term time only pay is calculated on the basis of the following:
• Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus
• Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus
• Individual leave entitlement - 5.2 weeks (26 days) or 6.2 weeks (31 days)
Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service.
Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 26 days annual leave.
Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive
31 days annual leave.
Calculation for employees with less than 5 years’ service:
38 weeks (term time) + 26 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 44.8 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
Calculation for employees with more than 5 years’ service:
38 weeks (term time) + 31 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 45.8 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
This post is not open to job share.
