To build on our journey of strengths-based practice and support for our families in Darlington, we have expanded our work significantly, adopting and implementing the Leeds Strengthening Families ethos. This is an exciting time to be part of this vibrant programme which is aimed to:
· Support the council to safely and appropriately reduce the need for children and young people to enter the looked after system
· Create the conditions for good social work practice by supporting the development of a borough wide culture and ethos of restorative and relational working
· Improve the effectiveness of Local Authority Children’s Services
We are seeking enthusiastic, energetic and motivated individuals who want to be part of our team. You will be fundamental in creating an environment that supports and enables relational practice, building local capacity, relationship and skills and innovation as part of a whole system reform.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and dynamic practitioner with exceptional communication skills. You will the join team and will have a passion for working creatively and flexibly with children and families who are identified as being at the Edge of Care. We would particularly welcome applications from workers with experience in mental health, substance misuse or domestic violence.
Please note: this role is not suitable for Newly Qualified Social Workers within 12-18 months post-qualifying.
