Temporary to cover maternity leave

The Community Occupational Therapy Service is seeking to recruit a qualified Occupational Therapist to cover maternity leave.

The service provides Occupational Therapy support to adults and children with physical disabilities living in their own home in the community.

The post holder will carry a caseload appropriate to the grade of the post, facilitating assessment and treatment of customers, utilising a range of compensatory or rehabilitative techniques.

The post holder will work within a community team of Occupational Therapists and will be responsible for prioritising their workload on a day to day basis. They will have will have access to range of equipment to support customers/patients.

The post is based within Sunderland’s Independent Living Centre, with opportunities for agile, flexible and home working.

Candidates should have well developed time management and organisational skills, with the ability to create excellent relationships and work creatively with their team.

This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
