We are seeking qualified and experienced primary and secondary teachers to join the team as Intervention Teachers for sick, ill and injured children and other pupils requiring education support in and out of school. We seek applications from highly committed, creative and energetic practitioners who demonstrate evidence of outstanding progress for pupils.

The post holder will work across County Durham to support pupils with an identified education need which arises either from a health need, which prevents their ability to attend school, or have other identified vulnerabilities which merit additional education support. Currently, we deliver in; the University Hospital classroom; GAP provision; a unit for young school-aged mothers and various, small group teaching bases across the county.

Re-integration to school is the aim of all health based interventions and ensuring academic progress for all intervention packages. Home visits and meetings at pupils’ base schools will also form part of this role.
