Are you an experienced, caring, flexible Counsellor who would like the opportunity to support the mental health and wellbeing of our pupils?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Counsellor to join us to provide high quality counselling and a range of therapeutic services to support our pupils identified as having highest need and contribute to the welfare and pastoral care offered to them. Canning Street Primary School is an inner-city, multi-cultural school that requires energy and tenacity. We are looking for this person to join our team to help build a bright future for our most vulnerable pupils and school community. Canning Street has a team of unfaltering practitioners at all levels who, daily, work incredibly hard to achieve the school’s aims.

A successful track record of providing counselling to pupils in an educational setting and working collaboratively with multi-agency professionals is essential, as well as being suitably qualified. You will be highly motivated to improve outcomes for all learners, acting as a champion for the mental wellbeing of our delightful, enthusiastic pupils across the school as well as using your experience to develop this role to complement the school ethos.

We need someone who can demonstrate:
> The interpersonal skills to forge positive working relationships with children and adults.
> The pro-active and flexible attitude that is needed to work in a school where schedules and timetables are often subject to change.
> A firm and genuine belief that all children deserve the chance to succeed and feel positive about themselves and their personal achievements.
> A reflective attitude to recognise when something can be done more efficiently or effectively and bring about change.
> Resilience, hard work, adaptability, and a sense of humour.

We can offer you:
> The opportunity to shape the direction of this exciting role in partnership with our experienced SENDCO and SLT.
> Lively, happy children who thrive when working closely with adults.
> A friendly, supportive team who share a common ambition of wanting the best for every pupil.
>CPD tailored to your needs and areas of interest
If you feel you have skills Canning Street Primary School require, we would love to hear from you.
Canning Street Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The appointment of the successful applicant will depend upon receipt of an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and a range of other recruitment checks.
