The Adults & Communities Directorate consists of three strands, Adult Social Care, Community Development, and Public Health. Our aims are to continue to provide essential and highly valued services and to build capacity to enable local communities to make lasting change, improve quality of life and prosperity. As a directorate we lead on developing a culture of co-operation and co-production, respecting and nurturing the skills and talents of local people and enabling them to fulfil their potential.
You’ll bring your knowledge of Adult’s Commissioning and take a lead on the commissioning and contract management of residential services and older people provision.
You will need extensive knowledge of commissioning including procurement and have a good knowledge of adult social care services. You will have widespread experience of working as a commissioner including contract management and be able to work collaboratively and in partnership with stakeholders and across agencies to deliver improved outcomes for residents.
You’ll have an excellent understanding of dealing with and analysing information whilst under pressure, and effectively communicating this information to others. It’s key that you have experience of writing and presenting reports to inform others about relevant issues and recommend appropriate future action.
This busy and rewarding role will take advantage of the right candidate’s ability to build long-lasting internal and external stakeholder relationships and to ensure effective leadership; motivating and developing staff within teams to ensure organisational objectives are met to ensure commissioning strategies are implemented effectively.
